Roan always has hospitality at the heart—yours and ours. We want you to feel at ease when you sit down with us, and we want to design a polished, welcoming home you’re thrilled to invite others into.
At Roan, that’s how we approach every interior design project.
Our founder, Kelly Jones, spent her career first as a live television producer and then as a wedding planner based in Western NC. If the two roles have one thing in common, it’s that there are no do-overs.
That’s how Kelly became an expert at handling high-stakes projects with precision and ease.
When Kelly began flipping houses, she found that staging interiors came naturally, thanks to her experience with wedding design. But she quickly realized that she wanted to tell even more personal stories through luxury home design.
And that’s how Roan came to be.
When it comes to my own home, I’ve so far resisted the temptation of millennial beige and stayed loyal to my affinity for classic English design.
It all dates back to childhood visits to my grandmother’s house, where the shelves were bristling with Princess Diana bells, plates, and teacups. They shaped my definition of elegance, and you’ll find plenty of those romantic flourishes in my own home.
As an Asheville interior designer, I help my clients discover what feels most like home to them, then create effortlessly luxurious and polished spaces informed by their personal history. I also draw inspiration from the Gilded Age opulence of the Biltmore Estate, an Asheville icon.

In our corner of Western North Carolina, Roan Mountain is the gathering place. It’s where we go to hike amid wildflower meadows, where we unfold our blankets for a family picnic. We chose the name to honor our land and our legacy, because the spaces around us influence our stories, and our stories influence the spaces where we live.
